Mumbai-based chartered accountant Bijal Shah has achieved a historic win, becoming the inaugural champion of Star Plus' new logic-based game show, India Ke Top 1% – The Anil Kapoor Show. Shah claimed a grand prize of ₹94 lakh in the show's grand premiere episode, which aired on September 19, 2026, hosted by veteran actor Anil Kapoor.
A Triumph of Mind and Strategy
The game show challenges contestants on their presence of mind, reasoning abilities, decision-making skills, and everyday intelligence. Competing against 100 participants, Shah demonstrated remarkable composure and a talent for identifying patterns under pressure, successfully navigating through the stages to reach the final round.
Speaking about her significant achievement, Shah expressed her disbelief and shared her winning philosophy. "Winning ₹94 lakh and becoming the show’s first-ever winner still feels unreal. I focused on one question at a time and trusted myself," she stated. She also attributed her success to unwavering family support, mentioning, "I truly feel that my father’s blessings and my son Pranit’s luck were with me throughout, and of course, not without my family’s support."

Host Anil Kapoor extended his congratulations to Shah, commending her ability to maintain focus throughout the demanding competition. Kapoor highlighted that Shah exemplified the qualities essential for reaching the top one percent.

India Ke Top 1% distinguishes itself from traditional general-knowledge quizzes by focusing on logic, observation, and common sense. In this unique format, 100 contestants simultaneously answer 13 progressively challenging questions. Each participant begins with ₹1 lakh, but an incorrect answer results in elimination and transfers that amount to a shared prize pool, which can accumulate up to ₹1 crore.
