New Delhi – President Droupadi Murmu is set to present India's prestigious Padma Awards to 65 eminent personalities at a Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 23. This event marks the second phase of this year's awards, recognizing exceptional contributions across various fields.
Film Industry Honorees
Several prominent figures from the Indian film industry are slated to receive top civilian honors. Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty will be bestowed with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award. With a career spanning over five decades and more than 400 films, Mammootty is celebrated for his profound impact on Indian cinema and his extensive social and philanthropic endeavors.
Actor, filmmaker, and producer R. Madhavan, widely known as Maddy, is among the recipients of the Padma Shri. Madhavan has earned acclaim for his versatile performances across Hindi, Tamil, and other regional film industries, consistently delivering critically praised roles in both commercial and content-driven productions.
Veteran actor Satish Shah, whose comedic genius has entertained audiences for decades, will also be honored posthumously with the Padma Shri. Shah became a household name through his memorable work in television and Bollywood, establishing himself as one of India's most recognizable character actors.
Joining them is Telugu cinema stalwart Gadde Rajendra Prasad, who will also receive the Padma Shri. Known for his extensive body of work and remarkable versatility, Prasad has appeared in hundreds of films across multiple Indian languages, maintaining his status as a respected figure in the industry.

The Padma Awards are among the highest civilian honors in India, presented annually to individuals who have demonstrated distinguished service and excellence. These awards span diverse fields, including art, literature, science, public affairs, sports, medicine, and social work. This year, a total of 131 Padma Awards were announced, comprising 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri honors. The upcoming ceremony will acknowledge the achievements of these distinguished personalities whose work has significantly shaped Indian society and culture.
