Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has publicly distanced himself from the ongoing CJP protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, stating he is an artist, not a politician. He urged fans not to involve him in political matters, citing a lack of complete information on the protest.

Renowned Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has clarified his stance on the ongoing CJP protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, emphasizing his role as an artist and his desire to remain separate from political affairs. Dosanjh made his position clear during a recent Instagram Live session, responding to a fan's query about the agitation.

An Artist's Stance on Political Involvement

During the live interaction, Dosanjh directly addressed the fan, stating, "Bro, I’m an artist. I’m not a politician. Please keep me away from all this." He further explained that he lacked comprehensive knowledge of the protest's developments, deeming it inappropriate to comment without full information. "I don't know much about what is happening. I don't want to speak on something I don't fully understand," he reiterated, urging his audience not to involve him in political debates.

Context of the CJP Protest

The CJP (Citizens for Justice and Peace) protest at Jantar Mantar involves a sit-in demonstration demanding accountability and transparency regarding alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. The movement has garnered support from various activists and political figures, highlighting concerns over the integrity of public assessment systems.

Reflection and Past Engagements

Beyond his immediate comments on the protest, Dosanjh also shared personal reflections on life's challenges, encouraging patience and faith. Quoting from the Guru Granth Sahib, he advised viewers to stay grounded and not get consumed by worldly conflicts, stating, "Life cannot always be according to our wishes. We should have patience and keep faith in Waheguru."

Dosanjh's current stance marks a notable departure from his past public interventions on social issues. In 2020, he openly expressed solidarity with protesting farmers, a move that garnered significant attention. This time, however, the entertainer has drawn a clear line, reiterating his preference to focus on his artistic endeavors rather than political activism.
