Christopher Nolan's epic film 'The Odyssey' collected an estimated ₹22 crore nett on its second day in India, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹39.40 crore. The mythological drama maintained strong momentum globally, hitting $257.8 million worldwide.

Christopher Nolan's latest cinematic spectacle, 'The Odyssey,' has continued its impressive run at the Indian box office, accumulating a total of ₹39.40 crore nett within its first two days of release. The film, which premiered on July 15, witnessed a significant surge in collections on Saturday, its second day in theatres.

Strong India Performance for 'The Odyssey'

After an opening day collection of ₹17.40 crore nett on Friday, 'The Odyssey' added an estimated ₹22 crore nett on Saturday, marking a healthy 26.4% jump. This brings its gross India earnings to ₹47.03 crore, according to figures from box office tracking website Sacnilk. The mythological epic screened across 8,791 shows on Saturday, achieving an overall occupancy of 54.4% nationwide.

The English version of the film proved to be the strongest performer, contributing ₹17.75 crore nett to Saturday's total, while the Hindi-dubbed version brought in ₹2.35 crore. Despite carrying an 'Adults Only' (A) certificate, 'The Odyssey' has maintained robust momentum, fueled by positive audience buzz, strong reviews, and high demand for premium formats like IMAX.

Global Box Office Success

The film's success extends far beyond India. 'The Odyssey' earned an impressive $51 million on Friday from 3,919 theatres across North America, as reported by Variety. Globally, the film has amassed an estimated $257.8 million, including $137.3 million from 73 international markets. These figures position 'The Odyssey' to achieve Christopher Nolan's biggest global opening to date, already surpassing the worldwide opening weekends of previous hits like 'The Dark Knight Rises' ($249 million), 'The Dark Knight' ($198 million), and 'Oppenheimer' ($180 million).
