Zomato Lays Off 250 Employees, Closes Hyderabad Support Centre

· · 1 min read

Food delivery giant Zomato is reportedly laying off approximately 250 employees as it shutters its customer support centre in Hyderabad. The move is part of a broader restructuring, consolidating operations at its Gurugram headquarters.

Food delivery platform Zomato has initiated a significant restructuring of its customer support operations, leading to the layoff of around 250 employees. The company is closing its customer support centre located in Hyderabad, with operations being consolidated and shifted to its Gurugram headquarters.

Sources indicate that these workforce reductions are part of a strategic restructuring rather than solely a cost-cutting measure. Zomato has also increasingly outsourced a portion of its customer care services to external partners over the last six months, a trend that appears to be continuing with this latest move.

Employees affected by the decision were reportedly informed on August 31.
