Western Railway has implemented significant route changes for five train services, effective from September 19, 2026. These diversions are necessary due to ongoing infrastructure development projects across two key sections of the rail network. Passengers planning to travel on these routes are strongly advised to check the revised schedules and stoppages.
Ghaziabad Yard Infrastructure Work Affects Three Trains
Three of the affected trains are being rerouted because of a traffic block and infrastructure upgrades at Ghaziabad Yard, located within the Delhi Division. Western Railway made this announcement via an update on X (formerly Twitter), urging travelers to make their plans accordingly.
- Train No. 19019 Bandra Terminus-Haridwar Special: This service, commencing its journey on September 19, 2026, will now operate via Hazrat Nizamuddin, Tilak Bridge, Delhi Shahdara B Panel, Delhi Shahdara, Noli, Shamli, and Tapri. It will bypass Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut City.
- Train No. 19031 Sabarmati BG-Yog Nagri Rishikesh Special: This train will follow a diverted path through Delhi Junction, Delhi Shahdara, Noli, Shamli, and Tapri. It will no longer stop at Ghaziabad, New Ghaziabad, Meerut Cantt, Meerut City, Modinagar, Sakhoti Tanda, Deoband, and Muzaffarnagar.
- Train No. 12904 Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Special: This service will be diverted via Tapri, Shamli, Noli, Delhi Shahdara, Delhi Shahdara B Panel, Tilak Bridge, and Hazrat Nizamuddin. Consequently, it will skip Muzaffarnagar, Meerut Cantt, Sakhoti Tanda, Meerut City, and Ghaziabad.
Patch-Doubling on Ajmer-Chanderiya Section Diverts Two Trains
Separately, two other trains have been diverted due to ongoing infrastructure work related to the commissioning of patch doubling at Bandwara, Jharwasa, and Singawal stations on the Ajmer-Chanderiya section. Western Railway also communicated these changes through an update on X, advising passengers to note the revised routes.
- Train No. 09723 Jaipur-Bandra Terminus: Instead of its usual Ajmer-Chittaurgarh-Ratlam-Vadodara route, this train will now run via Ajmer-Abu Road-Palanpur-Sabarmati BG-Vadodara. New stoppages will include Beawar, Abu Road, Marwar, Palanpur, Falna, and Sabarmati BG.
- Train No. 12996 Ajmer-Bandra Terminus: This train will also adopt the revised route of Ajmer-Abu Road-Sabarmati BG-Palanpur-Vadodara. This diversion is scheduled for multiple journey commencement dates, including September 19, September 22, September 24, September 29, October 3, and October 6, 2026.
