Shares of Welspun Corp Ltd. experienced a significant rally, climbing over 8% in Friday's trade. The surge followed the announcement of a massive Rs 17,200 crore order for the supply of pipes from the company's US manufacturing facility.

The stock peaked at Rs 2,171 at the open on the BSE, marking an 8.33% increase. This record-breaking contract is the single largest order ever awarded to Welspun Corp, representing a defining milestone in its global expansion strategy.

Impact on Order Book and Revenue

Welspun Corp stated that this substantial order will considerably strengthen its existing order book and provide enhanced multi-year revenue visibility. The execution of this order is scheduled to take place between the financial years 2028 and 2029.

The company highlighted that the order size alone accounts for 30.32% of its total market capitalization, which stood at Rs 56,646.40 crore. This achievement validates the scale, quality, and robust execution capabilities of Welspun Corp's operations, reinforcing its leadership as a trusted partner in the global energy and infrastructure sectors.

Strategic Global Positioning

The landmark win also reflects the growing confidence major global energy players place in Welspun Corp for large, complex, and mission-critical pipe infrastructure projects. The company's strengthened order book and partner trust firmly position it for sustained, long-term growth within the North American energy infrastructure market.

This success is a testament to Welspun Corp's long-term strategy of expanding global manufacturing capacity and deepening relationships with marquee international clients. With this new contract, the company's global order book has reached a historic high of $4.4 billion (approximately Rs 42,100 crore).
