A lavish four-day Indian wedding, estimated to cost over $5 million (VND 130 billion), is set to transform Hon Tre Island in Nha Trang Bay, Vietnam, into a hub of grand celebration this December. The event, scheduled from December 9 to 13, will bring together 1,400 guests from India and other countries, marking it as the largest Indian wedding ever held in Vietnam.
Organized by Blue Lemon Vietnam, a Turkey-based company, in collaboration with an Indian wedding planning agency, the extravagant affair will require the involvement of more than 600 staff members. Guests can expect a packed program rich in Indian traditions and culture, including traditional ceremonies, receptions, live entertainment, musical performances, and diverse culinary experiences, alongside resort activities.
Vietnam Emerges as a Premier Luxury Wedding Destination
This high-profile wedding underscores Vietnam's growing reputation as a preferred destination for wealthy Indian families seeking to host large, multi-day celebrations. The country's appeal has been steadily rising, with several other significant Indian weddings taking place recently.
- In December 2025, an Indian billionaire family reportedly booked an entire resort in Phu Quoc for seven days for a wedding attended by over 1,130 guests.
- Ha Long also hosted three weddings involving Indian billionaire families in February 2026.
The latest mega-wedding in Nha Trang further solidifies Vietnam's position in the lucrative Indian wedding tourism market.
India: A Key Tourism Market for Vietnam
Vietnam's tourism sector has identified India as a crucial market in its long-term strategy. The first six months of 2026 saw nearly 340,000 Indian visitors, placing India among Vietnam's top 10 international tourism markets. Large Indian weddings offer substantial economic benefits beyond just tourist arrivals.
Their extensive scale ensures significant spending across various sectors, including luxury resorts, hospitality services, event management, entertainment, transportation, and diverse food services, providing a substantial boost to the local economy.
