As India approaches the festive season, major automakers are preparing a fresh wave of new vehicle launches and significant facelifts. Historically, this period sees increased buyer interest due to attractive discounts and financing options. Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Toyota, JSW MG Motor, and Mahindra & Mahindra are among the manufacturers set to introduce updated or entirely new models in the coming weeks.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift
Maruti Suzuki India is expected to roll out the facelifted version of its popular compact SUV, the Brezza, around July 24. Bookings have already commenced for the updated model, which is anticipated to offer two engine choices. Alongside the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce its 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit, currently powering the Fronx. This strategic move could allow buyers to benefit from a lower tax bracket applicable to sub-four-metre petrol vehicles with engines under 1,200cc. The Brezza facelift will intensify competition against rivals like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
Kia Syros EV
Kia India digitally unveiled the Kia Syros EV on July 15, marking its second mass-market electric vehicle offering after the Carens Clavis EV. Nationwide pre-bookings for the compact electric SUV are now open for ₹25,000. Kia is slated to announce pricing details during the EV’s drive event later in July. The Syros EV will be available with two battery options: a 51.4-kWh variant providing an ARAI-certified range of 526 km, and a 42-kWh variant offering 443 km. With a claimed power output of 171 PS, the Syros EV boasts segment-leading power and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds with the larger battery pack.
Toyota Hilux Facelift
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is expected to launch the updated Hilux mid-size pickup truck in India on July 28. An official teaser has already showcased the new Hilux in an eye-catching orange-bronze shade. Design enhancements include a prominent silver skid plate, a honeycomb grille, and 'Toyota' lettering integrated into a black trim strip connecting the LED headlamps. The facelifted Hilux is projected to retain the powertrain from its predecessor, which features a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine generating 204 hp and up to 500 Nm of torque.
JSW MG Motor India's New EVs
JSW MG Motor India, a significant player in the country's electric car segment, is reportedly preparing to launch both an electric vehicle (EV) and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in August. These new models are expected to be badge-engineered versions of the Wuling Eksion, a model sold in Indonesia. Wuling, like MG, is owned by China's SAIC Motor, which holds a 49% stake in JSW MG Motor India. The Wuling SUV's design was patented in India earlier this year. These new vehicles are likely to be positioned between the MG Hector and the recently launched MG Majestor. The introduction of JSW MG Motor’s plug-in hybrid SUV would mark a significant debut for PHEV technology in India’s mainstream mass-market passenger vehicle segment.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is anticipated to unveil the 2026 Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift at its annual August 15 event. The updated SUV is expected to feature minor styling and interior enhancements while continuing to offer the current 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine options. Visual updates will likely include a refreshed front grille, updated headlamps, and a redesigned front bumper, with its side profile largely remaining consistent.
