Shares of Transrail Lighting Limited, a prominent engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) player in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector, saw a significant rise on Wednesday. The company's stock closed 5.57% higher at Rs 497.80, up from its previous close of Rs 452.05, after it announced securing new orders valued at over Rs 574 crore.
Significant Order Wins Boost Company Outlook
The fresh influx of orders, predominantly within its core Domestic Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business, was announced during market hours. This development propelled the company's market capitalization to Rs 6407 crore.
Details of the New Contracts
The new contracts encompass a range of projects, including the EPC of transmission lines and reconductoring initiatives. A notable aspect of these wins is the supply of high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors, manufactured at Transrail Lighting's own facilities. Additionally, the company secured orders for the supply of transmission poles and an EPC contract from a major Indian private-sector developer for a new transmission line construction.
These latest achievements underscore Transrail Lighting's growing expertise in HTLS conductor manufacturing and stringing. With these additions, the company's total order intake for the current year has now reached Rs 1,609 crore. Furthermore, orders worth Rs 694 crore are currently at the L1 stage, indicating a robust pipeline for future inflows. The company continues to observe a healthy bidding landscape in both domestic and international markets.
Strategic Capacity Expansion
To meet the escalating demand, Transrail Lighting has proactively expanded its manufacturing capabilities. The company has doubled its tower manufacturing capacity to 172,400 MTPA and increased its conductor capacity by 70% to 40,800 KMPA. This strategic expansion is crucial for supporting the rising demand and executing the newly secured projects efficiently.
Management's Vision for Growth
Randeep Narang, MD & CEO of Transrail Lighting, expressed optimism about the company's trajectory. He stated, "The latest order wins reflect the continued confidence our marque customers place in our engineering, manufacturing and execution capabilities in the T&D sector. I am particularly thrilled for the HTLS reconductoring jobs we have won as it is a testimony to not just our construction excellence but also to our advanced product range." Narang emphasized that a strong order book, a robust pipeline of opportunities, and expanded manufacturing capacities provide a solid foundation for sustainable long-term growth for Transrail Lighting, which operates across 59 countries in T&D, Civil, Railways, and Poles & Lighting segments.
