A new report identifies 15 top NSE 500 stocks with high dividend yields, led by public sector undertakings. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) offers the highest yield at 7.6%, with ITC, IOC, Infosys, and Wipro also making the list.

A recent analysis by IDBI Capital has highlighted 15 prominent companies from the NSE 500 index that are leading in dividend payouts, generously rewarding their shareholders. The report indicates a notable presence of public sector undertakings (PSUs) among these top performers.

Oil & Gas Sector Dominates High Yields

The oil and gas sector features prominently among the top dividend yield stocks. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) leads the pack with an impressive dividend yield of 7.6% and a payout ratio of 32%. Close behind is Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC), offering a 7.2% yield with an identical 32% payout.

Further contributions from the energy sector include Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC), which delivers a 5.1% yield and a 43% payout. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) rounds out the major energy players with a 4% yield and a 30% payout ratio.

Power, Mining, and Infrastructure Performers

Several companies across power, mining, and infrastructure sectors also demonstrate strong dividend yields. Coal India Ltd stands out with a 5.6% dividend yield and a significant 96% payout ratio. In power financing, REC Ltd provides a 5.9% yield paired with a 30% payout, while its counterpart, Power Finance Corporation Ltd, offers a 4% yield and a 30% payout.

Other key players in this segment include Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, with a 4.6% yield and a 38% payout. Rites Ltd shows a 3.9% yield alongside a substantial 95% payout, and NMDC Ltd contributes with a 3.8% yield and a 43% payout.

IT and FMCG Leaders in Shareholder Returns

The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and technology sectors also feature companies known for strong shareholder returns. ITC Ltd continues its tradition of rewarding investors with a 5.1% yield and an 89% latest payout.

In the technology space, Wipro Ltd leads with a 5.3% yield and a 58% payout. HCL Technologies Ltd recorded a 4.5% yield with a high 133% payout, indicating a distribution exceeding current earnings. Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd offers a 3.9% yield with a 69% payout, and Infosys Ltd completes the top 15 list with a 3.7% yield and a 67% recent payout.
