Tempsens Instruments Shares Soar 111% on Debut After Highly Subscribed IPO

Tempsens Instruments (India) saw its shares rally over 111% on debut, listing at Rs 634 on NSE against an issue price of Rs 300. The temperature sensor manufacturer's IPO was subscribed 184.07 times, reflecting strong investor demand.

Tempsens Instruments (India) made a remarkable debut on stock exchanges on Friday, August 28, 2026, with its shares listing at more than double their issue price. The Rajasthan-based manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors saw its stock open at Rs 634 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), a premium of 111.33% over its initial public offering (IPO) price of Rs 300 per share. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), shares debuted at Rs 631.20, marking a 110.40% premium.

Overwhelming Investor Demand for Tempsens Instruments IPO

The stellar listing follows an exceptionally strong response to the company's IPO, which ran from August 20 to August 24. The issue was subscribed an astounding 184.07 times overall, with bids received for over 2.79 billion shares against 15.18 million shares on offer.

IPO Details and Fund Utilization

Tempsens Instruments had set a price band of Rs 285-300 per share for the IPO, aiming to raise approximately Rs 650 crore. Prior to the main subscription, the company successfully raised Rs 194.5 crore from 29 anchor investors on August 19. Notable anchor investors included Aranda Investments (owned by Singapore's Temasek Holdings), Goldman Sachs, and Ashoka WhiteOak Emerging Markets Equity Fund.

The IPO comprised a fresh issue of Rs 95 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 1.85 crore shares, valued at Rs 555 crore, from existing shareholders Amit Talesara, Puneet Talesara, and Chandra Prakash Talesara.

The proceeds from the fresh issue are earmarked for strategic investments. Tempsens Instruments plans to allocate Rs 18 crore towards capital expenditure for its electrical heating solutions and specialized cable solutions. Additionally, Rs 55 crore is designated for the prepayment or scheduled repayment of outstanding borrowings, with the remaining balance intended for general corporate purposes.
