TCS Nashik Employee Alleges Forced Religious Practices, Harassment

· · 3 min read

A male TCS employee in Nashik has accused his team leaders of forcing him to participate in Islamic prayers and wear religious attire. He also detailed years of alleged religious mockery, physical threats, and deeply personal harassment.

A male employee at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nashik branch has come forward with a disturbing testimony, alleging years of targeted harassment by his team leaders. The employee claims he was coerced into Islamic religious practices, subjected to mockery of his Hindu faith, and faced personal insults, including threats and derogatory remarks about his family life.

Allegations of Religious Coercion and Mockery

According to the employee, the ordeal began shortly after he joined TCS in 2022 and continued until March 23, 2026. He identified his team leader, Tausif Akhtar, and colleague Danish Sheikh as primary instigators. As a devout Hindu, he alleged that his religious identity became a constant flashpoint, with colleagues mocking Hindu beliefs, questioning the existence of Hindu gods, and making derogatory remarks about revered figures.

The pressure escalated to forced participation in Islamic rituals. The complainant stated that on Eid in 2023, Tausif took him home, made him wear a religious cap, compelled him to offer namaz (Islamic prayer), and photographed him. These photographs were then allegedly shared within the company's official group. He also claimed he was repeatedly pressured to recite the kalma and remove his rudraksha mala.

Beyond religious coercion, the employee, a strict vegetarian, alleged he was taken to hotels after night shifts and pushed to consume non-vegetarian food, facing mockery when he refused.

Personal Attacks and Physical Threats

The harassment reportedly extended into the employee's personal life. He alleged that Tausif and Danish, among others, repeatedly mocked him and his wife for not having children despite years of marriage and medical treatment. Disturbingly, they allegedly made remarks suggesting he send his wife to them if he desired a child.

The confrontations also turned physical. The employee claimed that when he protested, Tausif threw a table fan at him and threatened to kill him. He also stated that Tausif, Danish, Shah Rukh, and Raza Memon made inappropriate remarks about female colleagues. When his father suffered a paralytic attack, the accused allegedly told him his father would recover only if he converted to Islam. After he stopped complying with their demands, false complaints were reportedly filed against him at the head office in an attempt to get him dismissed.

Broader Context and Ongoing Investigation

This male employee's complaint comes amid a wider investigation at the TCS Nashik branch. Tausif Akhtar and Danish Sheikh were previously named in an FIR filed by a 23-year-old female TCS employee who alleged sexual harassment and attempts to influence her religious beliefs. That complaint led to police sending undercover women officers into the company to investigate.

Following these investigations, nine cases have been registered based on complaints from several women at the Nashik branch, leading to the arrest of Tausif, Danish, and seven other individuals, including an HR executive.
