TCS Acquires Porsche's MHP; Suzlon Expands Wind Projects; HindCopper OFS Announced

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has approved the acquisition of MHP, Porsche AG's IT consulting arm, for €320 million. Meanwhile, Suzlon Energy plans to develop 1,325 MW of new wind projects in Andhra Pradesh, and the Indian government will sell a 3% stake in Hindustan Copper via an offer-for-sale (OFS).

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Expands Consulting Footprint

Tata Consultancy Services Netherlands BV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the IT giant TCS, has received board approval to acquire 100% of the equity shares of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH (MHP), a subsidiary of Porsche AG. This strategic acquisition, valued at €320 million, aims to bolster TCS's consulting capabilities, particularly within the automotive and manufacturing sectors, leveraging MHP's expertise.

Suzlon Energy Boosts Renewable Capacity in Andhra Pradesh

Suzlon Group, a leading wind turbine manufacturer, has unveiled plans to develop 1,325 MW of new wind projects in Andhra Pradesh's Rayadurg constituency, located in the Anantapur district. This significant expansion underscores Suzlon's commitment to strengthening its presence in the state and contributing to India's renewable energy goals.

Hindustan Copper Government Stake Sale

The Government of India is set to divest a 3% stake in the state-owned copper miner, Hindustan Copper, through an offer-for-sale (OFS). The government also retains an option to sell an additional 3% through a green-shoe option if the initial offering is oversubscribed. The floor price for the OFS has been fixed at Rs 514 per share, which represents a 9.5% discount to Hindustan Copper’s previous closing price.

Financial Sector Developments: ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank

Leading private lender ICICI Bank has successfully priced $1 billion of Senior Unsecured Fixed Rate Notes under its existing $7.5 billion Global Medium Term Note Programme. These notes have been assigned 'Baa3' and 'BBB' ratings by Moody's Ratings and S&P Global Ratings, respectively.

Similarly, Kotak Mahindra Bank has allotted $650 million of 5.478% senior notes due in 2031, part of its $1 billion Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) Programme. These notes are slated for listing on the India International Exchange (IFSC) and NSE IFSC.

New Listings: Sunshine Pictures and Shankesh Jewellers

The stock market will see two new listings on Tuesday. Media and entertainment content player Sunshine Pictures will commence trading after raising Rs 282 crore from its primary offering, which was subscribed 105.81 times. Shankesh Jewellers will also debut, having raised Rs 274 crore from its maiden stake sale, though its issue received a more subdued subscription of 2.80 times.
