Symbiotec Pharmalab's Initial Public Offering launches on August 24, setting its price band between Rs 938 and Rs 988 per share. The Madhya Pradesh-based pharmaceutical firm aims to raise Rs 1,757 crore through a fresh issue and offer for sale, with subscriptions closing August 27.

Symbiotec Pharmalab, a prominent pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, is set to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) for public subscription on August 24. The IPO, which has fixed its price band at Rs 938-Rs 988 per equity share, will allow investors to bid for a minimum of 15 shares.

Issue Details and Financial Goals

At the upper end of the price band, Symbiotec Pharmalab aims to raise a substantial Rs 1,757 crore. The IPO comprises two main components: a fresh issue of Rs 150 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of shares worth up to Rs 1,607 crore by existing shareholders. The anchor investor portion will open on August 21, with the public issue remaining open until August 27.

Proceeds from the fresh issue, totaling Rs 150 crore, will be strategically utilized. Approximately Rs 112.5 crore is earmarked for partial repayment of the company's debt, while the remaining funds will be allocated for general corporate purposes. The funds generated from the offer for sale will go directly to the selling shareholders, including promoter Satwani Holdings and key investors like Rosewood Investments and India Business Excellence Fund - III.

Company Profile and Market Position

Based in Madhya Pradesh, Symbiotec Pharmalab operates two Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing facilities. These facilities boast a maximum chemical synthesis capacity of 584.67 metric tonnes and a fermentation capacity of 300 kilolitres. The company asserts a global leadership position in specific API segments, holding a 36.2 percent global volume market share in corticosteroid APIs and 44.2 percent in steroidal-hormone APIs.

Following the IPO, Symbiotec Pharmalab is projected to command a post-issue market capitalization of Rs 6,348.5 crore at the upper end of its price band. The company faces competition from other listed Indian peers such as Concord Biotech, Divi's Laboratories, Cohance Lifesciences, and Laurus Labs.

Financial Performance

On the financial front, Symbiotec Pharmalab reported a profit of Rs 29.9 crore on revenue of Rs 203.1 crore for the quarter ended June 2025. For the full financial year 2025, the company recorded a profit of Rs 96.8 crore, a slight decrease of 3.3 percent from Rs 100 crore in the prior fiscal year. However, revenue saw a positive trend, increasing by 5 percent to Rs 751.6 crore from Rs 716.2 crore.

Key Investors and Advisors

Promoters currently hold a 26.91 percent stake in Symbiotec. Rosewood Investments, advised by InvAscent, is the largest investor with a 37.19 percent stake, followed by Motilal Oswal’s India Business Excellence Fund - III, which holds 24.47 percent. The IPO's merchant bankers include JM Financial, Avendus Capital, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors, and Nomura Financial Advisory and Securities (India). MUFG Intime India is serving as the registrar for the issue.
