· · 2 min read

Strides Pharma Science Ltd. shares climbed 10% after its Bengaluru manufacturing facility received a Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) classification from the USFDA. This marks the successful closure of an inspection that previously cited five observations.

Strides Pharma Science Ltd. saw its shares jump by as much as 10 percent in Thursday's trade following an announcement that its flagship manufacturing facility in Bengaluru has successfully concluded an inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).

The company confirmed that its Bengaluru plant received an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) with a Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) classification. This positive outcome signals the successful resolution of an inspection conducted by the USFDA between May 12 and May 20, 2026.

USFDA Inspection and Resolution

During the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection in May, the USFDA had issued a Form 483, detailing five observations. Strides Pharma had promptly disclosed these observations to the stock exchanges on May 20, 2026.

In response, the pharmaceutical company submitted a comprehensive reply within the stipulated timeframe, outlining the corrective and preventive actions it had implemented. Based on this response and the actions taken, the USFDA classified the inspection outcome as VAI, indicating that while observations were made, the issues do not warrant further regulatory action at this time.

The issuance of the Establishment Inspection Report officially concludes the inspection process for the Bengaluru facility, a significant milestone for Strides Pharma's regulatory compliance.

Strategic Importance of Bengaluru Facility

Strides Pharma emphasizes that its Bengaluru unit is a crucial manufacturing hub, serving both regulated markets and other international territories. The facility is responsible for producing a wide array of pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, and oral liquids.

This site is vital for supporting the company's existing commercial product portfolio and is poised to contribute to future growth opportunities. The successful closure of the USFDA inspection not only strengthens Strides Pharma's regulatory track record but also reinforces its dedication to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical products to patients globally.
