Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual, saw his net worth surge by an astounding $139 billion, equivalent to approximately Rs 13.23 lakh crore, following the successful debut of his aerospace company, SpaceX, on the Nasdaq exchange on Friday. This historic market entry propelled Musk's total wealth to an estimated $1.11 trillion by the close of market hours, according to data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

SpaceX's Record-Breaking IPO Performance

SpaceX shares began trading on Nasdaq at $150, a significant $15 above its initial public offering (IPO) price of $135 per share. The stock demonstrated robust performance on its first day, closing 19.22% higher at $160.95. Throughout the trading session, shares briefly touched an intraday high of $176.52, representing a 31% increase from the IPO price.

The company's IPO generated an impressive $75 billion in proceeds, a figure that dramatically surpassed the previous record set by oil giant Saudi Aramco's $29.4 billion IPO in 2019. This monumental capital injection positions SpaceX to aggressively pursue its ambitious long-term objectives.

Broader Market Impact and Future Vision

Beyond SpaceX's direct impact, shares of Musk's electric vehicle company, Tesla, also experienced an uptick, closing 1.82% higher at $406.43 on Nasdaq. The overall market reaction underscores investor confidence in Musk's ventures.

Musk has articulated that the decision to take SpaceX public is crucial for financing its expansive vision, which extends far beyond conventional rocket launches. The company is actively developing large-scale satellite networks, planning to establish data-center infrastructure in space, and ultimately, aims to facilitate human settlement on Mars.

"We want to be able to take anyone who wants to go to the moon, anyone who wants to go to Mars, or anywhere in the solar system, and maybe beyond the solar system at some point. We want to be able to take you there. Not just a few astronauts, I mean, you. Literally you. SpaceX wants to be able to take you to the moon, take you to Mars, and ultimately beyond," Musk stated in a video post on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing his company's audacious goals for space exploration and accessibility.

With an "incredible team" at SpaceX, Musk expressed confidence in achieving these monumental aspirations, signaling a new era for private space travel and human expansion into the cosmos.
