Dalal Street is witnessing a significant uptick in Initial Public Offering (IPO) activity, with six new issues slated to open this week. These public offerings collectively aim to raise approximately ₹10,300 crore from investors, contributing to October's total fundraising which has already reached ₹40,500 crore.
This wave of IPOs comes just ahead of the much-anticipated public offering from Jio Platforms, expected to be India's largest-ever, with a target of ₹30,200 crore. The robust pipeline indicates a continued interest in the primary market, as noted by Trivesh D, COO of Tradejini.

Market Sentiment and Investor Outlook
While the healthy IPO pipeline is a positive sign, market experts caution that strong investor demand isn't guaranteed. Trivesh D of Tradejini emphasized that the quality of issuers and their pricing will be crucial. He added, "Market volatility and the performance of recently listed companies could influence subscription levels and listing-day returns."
Investors are advised to consider valuations, financial performance, growth outlook, and the intended use of IPO proceeds when making investment decisions. An analysis by Kotak Institutional Equities highlighted strong investor enthusiasm for small- and mid-sized companies (SMIDs) in recent months, expressing hope that these companies can meet the high expectations embedded in their valuations.
