Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has revealed plans for a new gallery at his sprawling Mumbai residence, Mannat, an update that has sparked excitement among his vast fan base. The announcement came during a recent #AskSRK session on X, where the actor playfully responded to a fan's query about his public appearances from the famous balcony.
Khan stated, "Ab new gallery bana raha hoon na so aur bhi chamkunga… on the new gallery. Also hopefully, I will have some handle to hold onto!!!" This translates to: "I am building a new gallery, so I will shine even more from there." This new addition suggests a dedicated space for the star to greet the crowds of admirers who regularly gather outside his sea-facing Bandra home, particularly on special occasions like his birthday and film releases.
Extensive Renovation Underway
The new gallery is part of an extensive renovation and expansion project currently underway at Mannat. Reports indicate that Shah Rukh Khan and his family temporarily relocated from the property in April 2025 to facilitate the structural repairs and upgrades. The family is presently residing in luxury accommodation in the Pali Hill area of Mumbai.
According to sources, the renovation includes the addition of two new floors to the rear portion of the property, which will add approximately 7,000 square feet of built-up area. Producer and real estate developer Anand Pandit had previously confirmed these expansion plans. Upon completion, the annex is expected to boast a total built-up area exceeding 30,000 square feet.
Project Timeline and Costs
The renovation project, estimated to cost around ₹25 crore, is projected to conclude by December 2026. Shah Rukh Khan and his family are expected to return to their renovated home once the work is finalized. While the renovation itself is a significant investment, Mannat's current market value is widely reported to be close to ₹300 crore, underscoring its status as one of Mumbai's most valuable private residences.
Fans eagerly await the completion of the project and the opportunity to witness Shah Rukh Khan greeting them from his new, illuminated gallery.
