SAEL Industries has announced securing orders for 1 GWp (gigawatt-peak) of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules within the past six months, marking a substantial expansion for its module manufacturing division. A significant portion of this order book, totaling 585.8 MWp, is attributed to NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd.'s Chitrakoot solar project.
SAEL Solar P6 Pvt. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAEL Industries, will be responsible for supplying N-type TOPCon solar modules for these contracted projects. These modules are destined for both domestic and international markets, reinforcing SAEL's global footprint.
Major NTPC Project in Uttar Pradesh
The 585.8 MWp module supply order from NTPC Renewable Energy is specifically for its large-scale Chitrakoot solar PV project, located in Uttar Pradesh. Beyond this flagship project, SAEL's domestic order pipeline includes utility-scale solar developments in Gujarat and other regions of Uttar Pradesh, further solidifying its presence in India's growing renewable energy sector.
Expanding Manufacturing Capabilities
These recent orders represent a key milestone for SAEL, highlighting its strategic growth across the entire solar PV value chain. The company is actively involved in module manufacturing as well as the development and operation of utility-scale renewable power generation facilities.
Currently, SAEL boasts a substantial 3,625 MW of N-type TOPCon module manufacturing capacity. Its solar PV modules are also included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), a mandatory requirement for government and government-assisted solar projects in India.
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, SAEL is constructing an integrated manufacturing facility in Greater Noida (Jewar), Uttar Pradesh. This ambitious project will house a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing unit alongside a 5 GW solar module manufacturing line. This planned expansion is set to significantly enhance SAEL’s integrated manufacturing capabilities, further bolstering its position in the solar energy market.
The company's operations encompass utility-scale solar power generation, solar PV module manufacturing, and agri waste-to-energy solutions. As of September 30, 2025, SAEL managed a portfolio of 8,299 MWp of contracted and awarded solar and storage capacity, complemented by 164.90 MW of agri waste-to-energy capacity. The latest 1 GWp in module orders aligns with SAEL's integrated renewable energy strategy, driving both its manufacturing footprint and project portfolio expansion.
