Romal Shetty has been re-appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte India and South Asia, securing a second four-year term. The new tenure is set to commence on April 1, 2027, following a comprehensive nomination process and an affirmation vote by the partnership. The announcement was made to employees on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Shetty initially assumed the CEO role in April 2023 and has since overseen one of Deloitte India's most significant growth periods. During his leadership, the firm's revenue surged by 81 percent, reaching ₹14,500 crore for the fiscal year ending May 2026. Concurrently, the workforce more than doubled, expanding to over 55,000 professionals across the region.
A Track Record of Growth and Leadership
As CEO of Deloitte South Asia and a key member of Deloitte’s Global Executive Committee, Romal Shetty brings nearly three decades of extensive experience. His career includes leading large-scale transformation programs across more than 40 countries, focusing on growth strategies, profitability, restructuring, technology integration, and human capital agendas for both Indian and international clients.
Under Shetty's guidance over the past five years, Deloitte India's consulting practice experienced remarkable expansion, growing from 2,000 to over 10,000 people. This growth has positioned India as the fastest-growing practice within the entire Deloitte global network.
Beyond Business: Community Initiatives
Shetty's influence extends beyond corporate strategy to significant community initiatives. He has collaborated with state governments on projects such as Anemia Mukt Bharat (Anemia-Free India), Sanjeevani Pariyojana, an anti-erosion embankment project, and various efforts aimed at addressing stubble burning.
A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Shetty resides in Bangalore with his wife, Akila, and their son, Ayaan.
