Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) arm of Reliance Industries, has officially stepped into the ready-to-drink dairy segment with the introduction of its new brand, Joyland flavoured milk.
The initial launch of Joyland flavoured milk took place in Tamil Nadu. Consumers can now purchase the product in two flavours, Strawberry and Vanilla, both priced affordably at ₹20 per unit. This move signifies RCPL's strategic expansion within its food and beverage portfolio, aiming to provide high-quality, accessible products to a wider market.
Joyland: Quality and Affordability Combined
Joyland flavoured milk is crafted using authentic dairy ingredients, positioned as a convenient, ready-to-drink beverage. The company emphasizes its commitment to delivering global-standard products at competitive prices, a core tenet of its market strategy.
T Krishnakumar, Director of Reliance Consumer Products Limited, highlighted the significance of this venture. "Our entry into the ready-to-drink dairy market is a significant step in extending RCPL’s portfolio and widening the choices we offer consumers. With Joyland, we are bringing together authentic dairy ingredients, quality and affordability to make world-class products accessible to more households," he stated.
Phased National Expansion Planned
Tamil Nadu serves as the inaugural market for Joyland, with RCPL planning a phased national rollout. The company intends to leverage its extensive existing distribution network and retail presence to ensure widespread availability of the new dairy beverage.
Krishnakumar added, "Tamil Nadu marks the beginning of this journey, as we build Joyland into a broader dairy beverages portfolio and progressively expand its reach across India." Beyond the initial flavours, RCPL has indicated plans to introduce additional flavours and explore other dairy beverage categories as part of its long-term strategy.
Bolstering Reliance's Beverage Portfolio
The launch of Joyland flavoured milk further strengthens Reliance Consumer's overarching Total Beverage portfolio. This initiative aligns with the company's broader push into dairy-based consumer products, following its earlier announcement of entering the ice cream market with Bombay Creamery. Together, these moves underscore Reliance's ambition to become a dominant player across various consumer goods segments, offering diverse options to Indian households.
