Reliance Enters Competitive Ice Cream Sector

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has officially launched its new ice cream brand, Bombay Creamery. This strategic move marks Reliance's dedicated foray into India's rapidly expanding ice cream market. The company has positioned Bombay Creamery to offer "Global Quality at Affordable Price," with products starting at an accessible price point of just ₹10.

Real Dairy Cream and Wide Product Range

Bombay Creamery aims to differentiate itself by using real dairy cream in its products, a commitment highlighted by RCPL Director T Krishnakumar. "We built Bombay Creamery around one simple idea that dairy shouldn't need shortcuts," Krishnakumar stated, emphasizing the brand's dedication to genuine dairy products. The brand will offer a diverse range of ice cream formats, including cones, cups, tubs, bars, and sticks, catering to various consumer preferences.

Phased Rollout Begins in Western India

The initial launch of Bombay Creamery will focus on Western India, leveraging Reliance's extensive national distribution network and retail presence. Following this regional debut, RCPL plans a phased rollout across the entire country. This expansion strategy aims to capitalize on the company's robust infrastructure and deep consumer insights to establish a strong foothold in the competitive ice cream category.

This launch signifies RCPL's broader ambition to strengthen its presence in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, adding a significant new category to its growing portfolio.
