Raymond, Raymond Realty Shares Surge Post-Demerger & Aerospace Expansion

· · 3 min read

Shares of Raymond Ltd and Raymond Realty Ltd experienced a significant surge today, driven by the recent completion of the group's demerger. This restructuring, alongside Raymond's strategic expansion into aerospace manufacturing and Raymond Realty's robust Q1 order book, has fueled strong investor interest.

Shares of Raymond Ltd soared by 14.53 percent to reach a 52-week high of Rs 764 in Thursday's trading session. Concurrently, Raymond Realty Ltd saw its shares climb 6.30 percent to a day's high of Rs 537.40, while Raymond Lifestyle Ltd also recorded a gain of 2.29 percent, hitting Rs 665.15. This market enthusiasm follows the successful demerger of the Raymond Group, which has created distinct listed entities for its diverse businesses.

Demerger Fuels Market Optimism

Market experts attribute the strong buying interest in Raymond Group stocks to the clarity provided by the demerger. Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer at Master Capital Services, noted, "Raymond stocks are witnessing strong buying interest following the completion of the group's demerger, which has separated its businesses into distinct listed entities."

Under the new structure, Raymond Realty has emerged as a pure-play real estate company, while Raymond Ltd now focuses on its engineering and precision technology segments. Raymond Lifestyle has also been established as an independent listed entity. Singh highlighted that "The restructuring provides greater clarity on the performance and valuation of the individual businesses, which was difficult under the earlier structure." This clear segmentation has allowed investors to reassess the standalone entities, leading to increased trading activity and a repricing of the stocks.

Raymond's Strategic Aerospace Push

Further bolstering investor confidence in Raymond Ltd is its strategic move into the aerospace sector. Kranthi Bathini, Equity Strategist at WealthMills Securities, commented on this expansion: "Raymond is expanding its precision engineering division into aerospace manufacturing, which is one of the sunrise sectors in India." Bathini added that the company's order book and earnings visibility appear promising from a medium to long-term perspective, suggesting that investors with a long-term horizon might consider holding the stock.

Raymond Realty's Strong Performance

Raymond Realty also garnered positive attention due to its robust operational performance. Kranthi Bathini pointed out that "The Q1 order book is quite strong and the counter looks positive at current valuations." For long-term investors, Bathini suggested holding the stock and considering further purchases on dips.

Technical Outlook: Overbought Concerns

While the market sentiment is largely positive, technical analysts have offered a cautious perspective for Raymond Ltd. According to AR Ramachandran, a Sebi-registered research analyst at Tips2trades, "Raymond is bullish but overbought on daily charts, with the next resistance at Rs 776." He advised investors to consider booking profits, as a daily close below the support level of Rs 685 could trigger a fall towards Rs 611 in the near term.

For Raymond Realty, Ramachandran's technical view remains bullish, identifying strong support at Rs 511. He noted that a daily close above the resistance of Rs 541 could lead to an upside target of Rs 593 in the near term.
