The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced a one-month deferment in the selection process for its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This decision comes after the Trust received an extraordinary 5,200 applications for the pivotal administrative role.
To ensure continuity in its expanding administrative responsibilities, the Trust plans to appoint an interim secretary. This temporary measure will allow for thorough review of the extensive applicant pool without disrupting ongoing operations.
High Volume Prompts Delay
The decision to delay the CEO appointment was made during a board of trustees meeting held on Wednesday. Trust treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, confirmed to reporters that the selection committee requested additional time to meticulously review the high volume of applications. “We have received a total of 5,200 applications for the CEO post. Considering the volume of applications, the selection committee sought one month’s additional time, which has been approved by the Trust,” Giri stated.
The meeting also covered a range of other critical matters, including administrative oversight, financial reviews, and temple-related affairs.
Other Key Decisions and Developments
Beyond the CEO selection, the Trust's board addressed several other important items:
- Shravan Arrangements: Preparations for the anticipated increase in devotees visiting the Ram Temple during the ongoing Shravan month were reviewed to ensure smooth operations and visitor management.
- Trustee Vacancies: Discussions were held regarding the progress in filling vacant positions on the board of trustees.
- Permanent Religious Committee: A significant decision was made to establish a permanent religious committee. This body will oversee all religious affairs of the Ram Temple. Treasurer Govind Dev Giri elaborated that this committee will comprise nine saints, with five members drawn from Ayodhya and four from outside the city.
The deferment underscores the magnitude of interest in contributing to the management of the newly consecrated Ram Temple and highlights the Trust's commitment to a rigorous selection process.
