AYODHYA – The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, responsible for the construction and management of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, has publicly disclosed its financial records, revealing total receipts of ₹3,264 crore from donations and corpus funds. Of this substantial amount, ₹2,370 crore has been allocated and utilized for construction and other capital expenditures related to the temple project.
Key Officials Resign on Moral Grounds
In a significant development, the Trust also confirmed the acceptance of resignations from its General Secretary, Champat Rai, and trustee Anil Mishra. Both officials stepped down citing “moral grounds” following the submission of a preliminary report by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
A statement from the Trust indicated that these resignations were accepted to facilitate a fair investigation into the matters raised by the SIT report. The Trust further announced the removal of Mr. Gopal Nagarakatte from the list of special invitees.
“The Trust believes that the truth will be revealed after the completion of the legal investigation process, and until then, it is inappropriate to place blame on anyone,” the Trust stated, emphasizing its commitment to awaiting the outcome of the legal proceedings before assigning responsibility.
Financial Overview and Transparency Efforts
Beyond the primary construction funds, the Trust’s financial disclosures detailed offerings worth ₹582 crore received from its inception until March 31, 2026. Of these offerings, ₹391 crore was utilized for operational expenses, with the remaining funds held in bank accounts.
The Trust has also meticulously recorded thousands of in-kind offerings made by devotees to Lord Shri Ram Lalla. A total of 2,926 such offerings have been logged in a detailed register, which undergoes annual physical verification by an independent chartered accountancy firm serving as the internal auditor.
To ensure transparency, the Trust has extended an invitation to donors wishing to verify the utilization of their offerings or obtain further information. Devotees are encouraged to schedule an appointment with a Trust official in Ayodhya for such inquiries.
