PhysicsWallah Stock Sees Upward Movement

In early trading on Wednesday, PhysicsWallah's shares experienced a notable increase, climbing 4.16% to trade at Rs 126.40. This upward trend suggests investor confidence following the block deal, despite the lack of specific details regarding the parties involved.

Financial Performance and Strategic Acquisitions

PhysicsWallah, founded in 2016 by educator Alakh Pandey, has evolved from a YouTube teaching initiative into a comprehensive edtech platform offering digital courses, offline centers, and hybrid learning formats. The company's recent financial performance indicates a narrowing consolidated net loss, which decreased to Rs 77.6 crore from Rs 120.5 crore in the prior year.

  • Revenue Growth: Revenue for the period increased significantly to Rs 1,054 crore, up from Rs 847.1 crore in the corresponding previous period.
  • EBITDA Decline: Despite revenue growth, EBITDA saw a decline, falling to Rs 56.9 crore from Rs 76.3 crore year-over-year.

In a strategic move last month, PhysicsWallah's board approved the acquisition of an additional 11% stake in Guiding Light Education Technologies Pvt Ltd, known for its Sarrthi IAS brand. This acquisition, valued at Rs 71.81 crore, follows an initial agreement signed in September 2025 to acquire up to 85% of Sarrthi IAS's fully diluted share capital over six tranches through financial year 2031.

Shareholding Structure

According to shareholding data available at the end of the June quarter, promoter entities hold a 71% stake in PhysicsWallah, with public shareholders owning the remaining 29%.
