Parle Biscuits, the renowned Indian food company behind iconic brands like Parle-G, Monaco, and Hide & Seek, has officially appointed George Kovoor as its new Chief Executive Officer. Kovoor, a highly experienced executive with over three decades of leadership at PepsiCo, took charge of his new role on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
A Veteran Leader Joins Parle
George Kovoor brings a wealth of experience from the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, having spent more than 30 years in various capacities at PepsiCo. His extensive career spanned critical markets including India, the Asia-Pacific region, China, and the United States, providing him with a deep understanding of diverse consumer landscapes and operational complexities.
Ajay Chauhan, Managing Director of Parle Biscuits, expressed his enthusiasm for Kovoor's appointment. He highlighted Kovoor's proven track record in driving results, developing talent, and skillfully navigating complex market environments as crucial assets for Parle in responding to evolving consumer needs.
Extensive Career at PepsiCo
Kovoor began his distinguished career at Brooke Bond India, a division of Unilever, where he spent approximately three years. He then transitioned to PepsiCo, embarking on an impactful tenure that saw him hold significant leadership positions across multiple markets.
His roles at PepsiCo included leadership in franchise operations and sales. He subsequently moved into senior positions within the Asia region and China. Notably, Kovoor served as Vice President for the China and Hong Kong market units at PepsiCo Foods China. He also held responsibilities as VP, Sales Development & Transformation for Greater China, and General Manager of PepsiCo’s China Snacks and Foods business.
Further expanding his global experience, Kovoor relocated to PepsiCo's headquarters in New York. There, he spearheaded the company's international and global foodservice operations. Eventually, he returned to India, assuming the critical role of Senior Vice President and General Manager of PepsiCo's India beverages business, according to his professional profile.
Educational Background
Academically, Kovoor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Madras Christian College. He furthered his education by earning an MBA/MBM from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila in 1993. Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning, he also participated in Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, becoming an alumnus in November 2025.
