Pay10 Launches Digital Payment Apps in Bahrain, Bolstering Cashless Economy

· · 2 min read

Digital payments provider Pay10 has officially launched its consumer and merchant applications in Bahrain. This strategic expansion into the Gulf region supports the Kingdom's drive towards a cashless economy with secure, interoperable services.

Pay10, a prominent alternative payments provider, has formally announced its entry into Bahrain's rapidly expanding digital payments market. The company has rolled out dedicated consumer and merchant applications, aiming to strengthen the Kingdom's digital payments ecosystem.

New Consumer and Merchant Applications

The launch includes the Pay10 Bahrain App for consumers and the Pay10 Biz Bahrain App for merchants, both introduced earlier this year in April. These applications are designed to simplify everyday transactions and promote the adoption of cashless payments across Bahrain.

Consumer App Features

  • Instant money transfers
  • Local bank transfers
  • QR code-based merchant payments
  • Comprehensive daily payment management

A key differentiator for the consumer app is its interoperability with BenefitPay, Bahrain's widely used payment application. This compatibility allows users to scan dynamic QR codes and make instant payments using either the Pay10 or BenefitPay app, reducing barriers to adoption.

Merchant App for SMEs

The Pay10 Biz Bahrain App specifically targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking modern alternatives to traditional payment systems. Available on both Android and iOS platforms, it enables merchants to:

  • Securely accept digital payments
  • Monitor transactions in real-time
  • Access funds seamlessly
  • Benefit from faster settlement cycles and competitive pricing

This platform aims to address common challenges faced by SMEs, such as high transaction costs and delayed settlements, ultimately improving cash flow and accelerating business growth.

Licensed and Regulated Operations

Pay10 operates under a license from the Central Bank of Bahrain as an Ancillary Service Provider – Payment Service Provider. This regulatory framework ensures that Pay10 delivers secure, reliable, and seamless payment experiences, aligning with Bahrain's vision for a digitally enabled economy.

Harry Gill, Founder and Chairman of Pay10, commented on the expansion, stating, "The launch of Pay10 in Bahrain represents another important milestone in our vision of building a truly interconnected payments ecosystem across the region." He emphasized the company's commitment to delivering secure, interoperable, and customer-centric payment solutions that simplify commerce and support Bahrain's transition towards a cashless economy.

Pay10 currently maintains regulated entities in multiple countries, including India, the UAE, Morocco, and Hungary. Each entity operates independently under its respective regulator, supported by a compliance-first infrastructure designed for secure, scalable, and cross-border payment connectivity.
