Optiemus Infracom Shares Surge 20% on New Nothing JV for CMF Products

· · 2 min read

Optiemus Infracom shares surged 20% after announcing an expanded joint venture with Nothing Electronics. The JV focuses on commercializing CMF products, including mobile phones and components, deepening India's role in tech manufacturing and R&D.

Shares of Optiemus Infracom, an electronics manufacturer based in India, experienced a significant jump today, hitting their 20 percent upper circuit limit. This surge follows the company's announcement of an expanded partnership with Nothing Electronics Private Limited, formalized through a binding term sheet to establish a new joint venture (JV).

New JV to Commercialize CMF Products

The primary objective of this new Optiemus Nothing JV will be the commercialization and sale of CMF products. This category broadly includes mobile phones and their various subassemblies and components. The venture's establishment is contingent upon the fulfillment of specific conditions precedent and the execution of definitive agreements.

Optiemus Infracom stated in an exchange filing that it would initially acquire a 51.1 percent equity stake in the proposed JV company, subject to the necessary approvals and agreements.

Expanding on Previous Partnership

This latest development builds upon an existing strategic manufacturing joint venture between Nothing and Optiemus, which was first announced in September 2025. That initial partnership had already established India as a key production hub for Nothing and CMF branded products.

The current expansion signifies a deeper and more comprehensive collaboration. The companies highlighted that manufacturing, ownership, and research and development (R&D) will now be united under a single Indian entity. This strategic move, with CMF as its focus, represents the next step in Nothing and Optiemus's shared commitment to fostering India's technological capabilities from the ground up.

Boosting India's Tech R&D and Exports

A crucial aspect of CMF's investment in local R&D and engineering is its intent to elevate India's position in the global smartphone value chain. The aim is to transition India's role from primarily manufacturing to significant technology development and, ultimately, global exports.
