Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of Odisha, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has given its nod to SentraForge AI’s ambitious ₹22,634 crore project. This significant investment aims to develop a next-generation sovereign AI compute framework within India, prioritizing domestic ownership, governance, and operational control.
The approval was part of the 46th HLCA meeting, which greenlit a total of 27 projects across 15 districts, representing a cumulative investment of ₹2,47,115.70 crore and an expected employment potential of 50,162 positions. This move underscores Odisha's strategic commitment to expanding its footprint in high-tech sectors, including artificial intelligence, data centers, semiconductors, energy, and advanced manufacturing.
A Focus on Domestic AI Infrastructure
The SentraForge AI project is specifically designed to handle high-density compute, artificial intelligence workloads, and applications for both enterprises and institutions. Its core objective is to build a robust, India-centric AI infrastructure that ensures data sovereignty and technological independence.
Karthik Krishnan, CEO and Founder of SentraForge AI, emphasized the project's importance. “Approval by the High Level Clearance Authority chaired by the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi is a monumental step for SentraForge AI,” said Krishnan. “The Odisha government's deep tech foresight has accelerated our timeline, allowing us to immediately initiate the rollout of next-generation sovereign compute infrastructure. We are committed to establishing Eastern India's premier AI data factory as a pillar of national self reliance.”
Collaboration with GVPR Engineers Limited
The initiative is bolstered by the involvement of GVPR Engineers Limited, a multi-thousand-crore infrastructure firm. GVPR serves as a core equity backer, infrastructure co-promoter, and foundational partner, bringing extensive experience in large-scale power transmission, high-voltage substations, and heavy civil engineering. This partnership combines SentraForge AI's technological expertise with GVPR's proven capabilities in infrastructure development and financing.
Following this crucial clearance, SentraForge AI is set to advance into the subsequent phases of project execution, which include detailed engineering, mobilization of resources, and the commencement of infrastructure construction. This project is poised to significantly contribute to India's technological self-reliance and position Odisha as a key hub for advanced AI development.
