FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of beauty and fashion retailer Nykaa, has experienced a significant rebound on the stock market. However, market expert Akshay Bhagwat believes the stock is now entering a consolidation phase rather than continuing its steep upward trajectory.
Nykaa's Strong Performance and Analyst Outlook
Nykaa shares have rallied impressively, gaining 25% in the last three months and a substantial 45% over the past year. This strong comeback is partly attributed to improving fundamentals, robust quarterly earnings, and an easing of negative investor sentiment that previously weighed on the stock.
In the first quarter of financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), Nykaa reported an over three-fold increase in quarterly profit, reaching Rs 79.76 crore, up from Rs 24.47 crore in the same period last year. The Mumbai-based firm also saw its gross profit rise 33% year-on-year to Rs 1,276 crore. EBITDA climbed 68% to Rs 236 crore, pushing the EBITDA margin to 8.5%, its highest in 12 quarters. Revenue from operations grew 29% year-on-year to Rs 2,782 crore.
Short-Term Trading Strategy
Despite the strong financial results, Bhagwat cautions that the scale of the recent recovery suggests limited room for immediate further gains. He anticipates Nykaa's stock will trade broadly within a Rs 300-Rs 350 range over the next few months.
“If it is short term, your time horizon is lesser than two months, the advice is book profits at current rates and look for re-entries on dips around Rs 300 to Rs 280,” Bhagwat advised for short-term traders.
This implies a period of sideways movement as the market absorbs recent gains, rather than a sharp correction.
Long-Term Investor Perspective
For investors with a longer holding period, Bhagwat remains constructive on Nykaa's broader trajectory. He suggests that those willing to withstand near-term volatility could see the stock target its all-time high.
“Your target zone is near the all-time high of Rs 420,” he stated for investors with an investment horizon exceeding six to eight months.
Market Context and Disclaimer
This outlook for Nykaa reflects a broader market trend where strategy is increasingly dependent on entry price, patience, and risk appetite, especially as benchmark indices face pressure. Investors must align their expectations with their time horizon: traders might monetize the rebound, while long-term holders might stay the course.
