Prominent Investors Reap Rewards from NSE Listing

Among those who saw substantial gains from the NSE's market debut were legendary investor Radhakishan Shivkishan Damani, along with investment vehicles linked to tech stalwarts Azim Premji and N R Narayana Murthy. The listing also brought considerable upside for market veterans like Raamdeo Ramgopal Agrawal and Motilal Gopilal Oswal, as well as seasoned investor Dolly Khanna.

  • Premji Invest: The fund managed by Azim Premji, holding a 2.35 percent stake (5.82 crore shares), saw its valuation rise by Rs 541.26 crore on the debut day, reaching Rs 10,929.96 crore.

  • S Gopalakrishnan: The Infosys co-founder's 0.38 percent stake (94.28 lakh shares) was valued at Rs 1,770.7 crore.
  • Dolly Khanna: The renowned investor's 0.06 percent stake (15.16 lakh shares) was valued at Rs 284.75 crore.
  • Raamdeo Agrawal & Motilal Oswal: Each held a 0.03 percent stake (8 lakh shares), with their holdings valued at Rs 150.24 crore apiece.

NSE's Market Valuation and Global Standing

At its peak trading price of Rs 1,878 per share, the National Stock Exchange achieved a market capitalization of Rs 4.65 lakh crore. This valuation positions NSE as potentially the tenth most-valued listed company in India, following the Life Insurance Corporation of India, and could rank it seventh among the world's most-valued listed exchanges.
