NSE IPO to Lead September Rush: 20 Issues Aim for ₹45,000 Crore on Dalal Street

· · 3 min read

India's primary market anticipates a robust September, with approximately 20 Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) aiming to raise up to ₹45,000 crore. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) IPO, potentially India's largest ever at ₹30,000 crore, is set to lead this surge.

India's Primary Market Prepares for a Record Month

Dalal Street is gearing up for an exceptionally busy September, with nearly 20 Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) slated to hit the market. These new issues are collectively expected to raise a substantial amount, potentially reaching up to ₹45,000 crore. Headlining this significant activity is the much-anticipated NSE IPO, poised to become India's largest public offering to date.

This surge follows a period of strong primary market performance, with August witnessing the launch of nearly two dozen issues that raised approximately ₹22,500 crore. July also saw considerable activity, with IPOs securing ₹33,500 crore, bringing the two-month total fundraise to ₹56,000 crore.

National Stock Exchange IPO: A Landmark Listing

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) IPO is projected to be a monumental event, with a tentative issue size of ₹30,000 crore, making it India's biggest ever. Market sources indicate the leading exchange aims to get listed before the 'Shradh period' (Pitru Paksha), which commences on September 26.

According to Trivesh D, COO of Tradejini, the NSE's listing holds immense significance. It will bring one of India’s most crucial financial market infrastructures into the listed space, offering public investors a unique opportunity to participate in its growth trajectory. This move underscores the depth and resilience of India’s primary market.

Robust Pipeline and Investor Confidence

India has demonstrated remarkable strength in its IPO market, topping the world in the number of IPOs during FY25-26 and ranking third globally in capital raised, as highlighted by SEBI's report. This performance reflects sound fundamentals of the Indian economy amidst global uncertainties.

Market participants note that despite benchmark indices remaining range-bound due to geopolitical concerns, the IPO market maintains a healthy momentum. Strong issuer confidence is bolstered by sustained healthy demand and solid gains from recent IPOs. The pipeline remains robust, with 164 companies already holding SEBI approval, representing potential issues worth nearly ₹2.65 lakh crore.

Diverse Offerings and Regulatory Deadlines Drive Rush

September's IPO mix is diverse, spanning multiple sectors to maintain broad investor interest. Early announcements include Deepa Jewellers and Rays of Belief, both opening on September 1, 2026, aiming to raise a combined ₹585 crore. Other notable companies expected to launch IPOs include Prasol Chemicals, Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Limited (ARCIL), Manipal Payment and Identity Solutions, Veegaland Developers, Elevate Campuses, Virupaksha Organics, and Rentomojo, collectively targeting another ₹9,000-10,000 crore.

Further issues from Glass Wall Systems, Kanohar Electricals, Hero Motors, Parijat Industries, Pranav Construction, Learnfluence Education, and Karamtara Engineering are also anticipated, potentially raising ₹4,500-5,000 crore more. This rush is partly due to regulatory deadlines; Sunny Agrawal, Head of Fundamental Research at SBI Securities, points out that companies with approved prospectuses must complete their listing before September 30, or risk refiling documents with updated financials and seeking fresh SEBI approval.

Expert Outlook: Caution Amidst Optimism

While the rampant IPO activity is encouraging, experts advise caution. Trivesh D of Tradejini warns investors against subscribing to every issue. Kamraj Singh Negi, Managing Director and CEO at Pantomath Capital, emphasizes that the pipeline doesn't guarantee fundraising; valuations, secondary-market stability, and investor selectivity will ultimately determine market success. He notes a shift towards a more active and broad-based primary market environment.

Sameer Suhas Sawant, Research Analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, remains optimistic, stating that stabilizing macro conditions and strong listing-day performance suggest steady issuance activity through September and into the festive season quarter.
