Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' has grossed ₹116.49 crore in India and over $585 million globally by its ninth day. The mythological action-fantasy film continues its strong box office run, nearing the $600 million mark worldwide.

Christopher Nolan's latest cinematic spectacle, 'The Odyssey', is maintaining a formidable pace at the global box office, crossing significant milestones in its second week. As of its ninth day, the mythological action-fantasy epic has achieved a gross collection of ₹116.49 crore in India, while its worldwide earnings have soared past the $585 million mark, positioning it to breach the $600 million threshold over the current weekend.

Strong Performance in India

The film, an adaptation of Homer's classic epic, demonstrated a stellar opening week in India, accumulating ₹90.30 crore net. Its initial weekend saw impressive figures, with ₹17.40 crore on Friday, ₹22 crore on Saturday, and ₹21.90 crore on Sunday. While weekday collections saw a slight dip, the film maintained steady numbers:

  • Monday: ₹8 crore
  • Tuesday: ₹8.35 crore
  • Wednesday: ₹6.50 crore
  • Thursday: ₹6.15 crore

A recovery was noted on its second Friday (Day 8) with ₹6.85 crore, leading into a promising second weekend. On its ninth day (Saturday), 'The Odyssey' added ₹0.49 crore net, bringing its total India net collection to ₹97.64 crore. The film was screened across 506 shows nationwide with an overall occupancy of 43.3% on Saturday morning.

Language Dominance and Global Reach

The English version of 'The Odyssey' continues to be the primary driver of its Indian business, contributing ₹0.48 crore with a robust 62% occupancy across 328 shows. The Hindi version added ₹0.01 crore from 173 shows, while the Telugu version contributed a negligible amount from five shows.

Globally, the film's performance has been exceptional, with strong domestic earnings from North America complementing robust international collections. Its rapid ascent has already seen it surpass the lifetime global earnings of several recent Hollywood releases, solidifying its status as a major blockbuster.
