Maruti Suzuki India has officially launched the latest iteration of its popular premium hatchback, the Baleno, with prices commencing at ₹6.09 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model brings significant upgrades, including advanced Level 2 driver assistance systems (ADAS), segment-exclusive ventilated front seats, and a refined powertrain.

Refreshed Exterior and Enhanced Features

The new Baleno boasts a redesigned front fascia, featuring a distinctive new grille, a more sculpted front bumper, and a revised lower grille complemented by chrome-finished fender garnish. The exterior design is further accentuated by new LED daytime running lights and a sleek shark-fin antenna. Customers can choose from seven vibrant colors, including a fresh Enigmatic Teal shade.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Safety

A standout addition to the new Baleno is its Level 2 ADAS suite, which utilizes a combination of radar and camera sensors to provide a comprehensive set of safety features. These include Advanced Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Vehicle Sway Warning, and Forward Collision Warning.

Standard safety equipment across the range is robust, featuring six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Hold Control, reverse parking sensors, three-point seat belts for all occupants, and seat-belt reminders. A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is also included for added peace of mind.

Premium Interior and Connectivity

Inside, the Baleno offers a dual-tone cabin aesthetic, enhanced with piano-black inserts and luxurious leatherette upholstery. Maruti Suzuki highlights the ventilated front seats as a segment-first feature, significantly boosting comfort, especially in warmer climates. The vehicle also comes equipped with a Clarion premium sound system, a Qi-certified wireless smartphone charger with active cooling, a 360-degree camera, and a head-up display.

The infotainment experience is powered by a 22.86-cm (9-inch) SmartPlay Pro+ system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, Suzuki Connect telematics provides over 40 connected-car functions, covering aspects like vehicle safety, security, trip information, driving behavior analysis, alerts, and remote operations.

Efficient Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the new Baleno is powered by Maruti Suzuki's efficient 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine. This unit generates 61 kW (83 PS) of power at 5,700 rpm and 112.4 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Transmission options include a five-speed manual gearbox and an Auto Gear Shift (AGS) automatic.

The petrol manual variant achieves a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.80 km/l, marking a 6.4% improvement over the previous model.
