NEET UG 2026 Results Declared
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the NEET UG 2026 results, paving the way for 11.21 lakh qualified candidates to pursue undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied programs across India. Scorecards are now accessible for download via the official NTA NEET website.
Top Performers and Score Breakdown
This year's examination saw exceptional performance, with the highest score of 715 out of 720 jointly achieved by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana. The distribution of high scores demonstrates widespread excellence:
- 19 candidates scored above 700 marks.
- 138 candidates secured more than 690 marks.
- 1,492 candidates scored 650 or above.
- 10,160 candidates obtained 600 or more marks.
- 90,780 candidates scored 500 or more marks.
Among the top 138 performers, over 93% were first-time NEET candidates, predominantly aged between 17 and 19 years. Seventeen state toppers achieved scores of 700 or higher, while 26 state toppers surpassed the 690-mark threshold. Qualifiers represent all 36 states and union territories, with Uttar Pradesh leading with over 1.7 lakh successful candidates, and Lakshadweep recording 43 qualifiers.
Exam Participation and Demographics
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination was conducted on June 21, attracting nearly 20 lakh candidates across 5,440 centers in 551 Indian cities and 14 international locations. The exam was offered in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Bengali. Notably, women candidates constituted over 58% of all qualifiers, exhibiting a higher success rate than their male counterparts.

Evaluation Process and Next Steps
The results were declared on July 17, a day after the final answer key was released. The provisional answer key had been published on June 25, with OMR response sheets available for review between July 13 and 15. During the evaluation, the NTA revised two Physics questions: one was dropped, and for another, two correct answers were accepted, leading to 8 bonus marks awarded to all candidates under the NTA's evaluation policy.
Qualified candidates will now proceed to the counselling process for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical programs. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will oversee counselling for the 15% All India Quota seats, while state quota seats will be managed by their respective state counselling bodies. Candidates are strongly advised to refer only to official websites for counselling updates and to be wary of fraudulent admission offers or requests for money/personal credentials.
