Nashik TCS Case: Court Denies Interim Relief to Nida Khan; Next Hearing April 27

· · 2 min read

A court has declined to grant interim relief to Nida Khan in the Nashik TCS case. She is accused in a case involving alleged religious conversion and sexual harassment of women colleagues. The next hearing for her anticipatory bail plea is scheduled for April 27.

A Nashik court has denied interim protection to Nida Khan, an accused in a high-profile case involving alleged religious conversion and sexual harassment at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office. Khan had filed an anticipatory bail plea, which will now be heard on April 27.

Anticipatory Bail Plea Denied Interim Protection

Nida Khan, who is facing accusations related to alleged religious harassment and exploitation of female employees, sought interim relief pending the full hearing of her anticipatory bail application. However, the court did not grant this protection and has set April 27 as the date for considering both her bail plea and the interim relief request.

Accusations and Defense Arguments

Khan moved her anticipatory bail plea in the Nashik Sessions Court, citing her two-month pregnancy and arguing that the charges against her carry a maximum punishment of less than seven years. Her lawyer has vehemently denied the allegations, stating that it is impossible for her to be accused of outraging the modesty of other women.

TCS Clarifies Nida Khan's Role

Tata Consultancy Services had previously issued a clarification regarding Nida Khan's position within the company. The IT firm stated that Khan is a process associate and not an HR manager, as some reports suggested. TCS further added that she has never held any leadership role within the organization.

Ongoing Investigation and Arrests

Nashik Police Commissioner Sandip Karnik confirmed that Khan is accused in one case of religious harassment at the IT firm's unit. Police have so far arrested eight employees in connection with the broader case, including seven men and one female operations manager. Authorities have formed three teams to locate Khan, with one team reportedly reaching Mumbra.

Special Investigation Team Probes Multiple Allegations

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed and is currently investigating nine cases linked to allegations at the Nashik unit. These allegations include exploitation, attempted forced conversion, hurting religious sentiments, molestation, and mental harassment of female employees. Meanwhile, the complainant's lawyer requested and was granted time until April 27 to submit their written response to the court.
