Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has officially unveiled the new Brezza Turbo Boosterjet, marking the introduction of a turbo-petrol powertrain to its best-selling compact SUV. This strategic move aims to bolster the vehicle's appeal among younger consumers who prioritize higher performance without compromising on fuel efficiency.
The Brezza Turbo Boosterjet enters the market with introductory prices starting at ₹739,900 (ex-showroom). Under its hood lies a potent 997cc turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine, meticulously paired with a new six-speed manual transmission. This powertrain delivers 81 kW (110.2 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque across a broad range of 2,000 to 3,500 rpm, all while boasting a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.47 kmpl.
Beyond the new turbo variant, Maruti Suzuki has also updated the existing Brezza lineup. Models powered by the 1.5-litre K15C Dual Jet Dual VVT engine now feature a new six-speed manual transmission, in addition to the established six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The K15C version achieves a claimed fuel efficiency of 21.09 kmpl.
Completing the refreshed Brezza range is the S-CNG variant. This version now incorporates a redesigned underbody CNG tank, ingeniously preserving boot space. It also benefits from Idle Start-Stop technology and the new six-speed manual transmission. In CNG mode, it produces 64.6 kW (87.8 PS) and 121.5 Nm of torque, offering an impressive claimed fuel efficiency of 26.9 km/kg.
Design Enhancements and Feature Upgrades
The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza receives several cosmetic enhancements to refresh its appearance. These include a new smoke chrome grille, a metallic grey bull bar, a revised skid plate design, updated dual-tone side cladding, and redesigned alloy wheels. The turbo variant is distinctly identified by its “Turbo Boosterjet” badging.
The new Brezza is available in four distinct variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. Each variant offers a progressive set of features to cater to diverse buyer needs:
- LXi: The entry-level variant focuses on essential safety and value. It comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill hold assist, and LED headlamps, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.
- VXi: Stepping up, the VXi adds significant convenience features. These include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reverse camera, rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls, and connected car technology.
- ZXi: This variant is expected to appeal to buyers seeking a premium experience without opting for the top-end trim. It features a larger 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X infotainment system, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with active cooling, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front parking sensors, leatherette upholstery, and ambient lighting.
- ZXi+: The fully loaded ZXi+ variant integrates advanced active safety technologies, including Blind-Spot Warning with Lane Change Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also offers a premium audio system with Arkamys sound tuning, a 64-colour ambient lighting system, ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger with active cooling, a PM2.5 air purifier, and a new dual-tone interior finished with leatherette upholstery.
With its blend of new engine options, enhanced technology, and refreshed design, the Brezza aims to solidify its position in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, particularly targeting the dynamic Gen Z demographic.
