Maruti Suzuki, India's leading automaker, has announced a price hike for certain variants of its popular seven-seater Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Ertiga. The revised pricing, which came into effect in October 2026, sees an increase of up to ₹10,000 for affected models. This adjustment follows strong demand for the Ertiga in the Indian passenger vehicle market.
The most significant increase of ₹10,000 applies to the top-spec ZXi Plus petrol-manual and ZXi Plus petrol-automatic variants. Additionally, the Tour M petrol-manual and Tour M CNG-manual versions have become costlier by ₹2,500 each. Following these revisions, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga's ex-showroom prices now span from ₹8.90 lakh to ₹13.14 lakh. It's important to note that prices for several other Ertiga variants remain unchanged, offering buyers a range of petrol and CNG configurations at their existing rates.
Strong Demand Drives Price Adjustment
This price revision comes amidst robust performance for the Ertiga. The MPV recorded impressive sales of 16,911 units in September 2026, marking a substantial year-on-year increase of approximately 39.6% compared to the 12,115 units sold in September 2025. This consistent demand underscores the Ertiga's enduring popularity among Indian families seeking a practical and spacious vehicle with three rows of seating. Its blend of interior space, diverse powertrain options, and a competitive starting price point has solidified its position as a key player in India's competitive MPV segment.
Engine and Variant Options
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is powered by a reliable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Customers have the flexibility to choose between a five-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. For those seeking more fuel-efficient alternatives, a factory-fitted Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) option is also available, exclusively paired with a manual gearbox.
The MPV is offered across various trim levels including LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus, catering to private buyers with different feature and budget preferences. Furthermore, the 'Tour M' variants are specifically designed and marketed towards commercial and fleet operators, providing a versatile option for business use. This wide array of configurations ensures that buyers can select an Ertiga model that best fits their specific budget, transmission preference, and usage requirements.
