Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) has announced its highest-ever domestic monthly sales in July 2026, a significant milestone fueled by robust demand across its utility vehicle and passenger car segments. The country's largest automaker sold an impressive 200,123 units domestically, a considerable jump from 140,570 units in July 2025.
Overall, Maruti Suzuki's total sales for July 2026, including exports, reached 241,421 units, up from 180,526 units in the same month last year. While domestic figures soared, exports experienced a slight decline, moving from 31,745 units to 30,056 units year-on-year. Sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) contributed 11,242 units.
Utility Vehicles Lead Growth
The utility vehicle segment emerged as the primary growth driver, with models like the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, e Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6 collectively selling 78,851 units. This marks a substantial increase from 52,773 units sold in July last year, highlighting a strong consumer preference for SUVs and multi-utility vehicles.
Strong Performance in Compact and Entry-Level Segments
Maruti Suzuki's compact and mid-size car portfolio also demonstrated strong performance. Models such as the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Ignis, Celerio, and Ciaz recorded combined sales of 90,822 units, up from 65,840 units a year ago. The entry-level segment, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, saw its sales more than double to 12,634 units.
Additionally, the Eeco van continued its steady climb, with sales reaching 13,896 units. In the light commercial vehicle category, the Super Carry sold 3,920 units, an improvement over 2,794 units in the year-ago period.
Fiscal Year-to-Date Performance
For the first four months of Fiscal Year 2027, Maruti Suzuki's total sales have reached 924,145 units, compared to 708,387 units in the corresponding period last year. This sustained growth in domestic demand underscores the company's strong market position despite the minor dip in export volumes.
