Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled its BE 6 SPORTEQ electric SUV, introducing a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option with prices from ₹11.45 lakh. Deliveries for the new model are set to commence on August 26, 2026.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has officially launched its new BE 6 SPORTEQ electric SUV, offering an innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program that sets the entry price at ₹11.45 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing applies to the 'ONE' variant equipped with a 59kWh battery, where the battery rental is charged at ₹3.75 per kilometer. For customers opting for outright battery ownership, the same 'ONE' variant is priced at ₹19.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BE 6 SPORTEQ series, available in eight variants and 12 color options, is scheduled for customer deliveries starting August 26, 2026, coinciding with the Onam festival. The lineup introduces significant technological upgrades, including an advanced cockpit and enhanced personalization features.

Pricing and Battery Options Across Variants

The pricing structure for the BE 6 SPORTEQ varies based on the chosen variant and battery capacity. The 'TWO' variant, for instance, costs ₹12.95 lakh with BaaS or ₹20.95 lakh with an owned battery. Higher-end models like the 'THREE' are priced at ₹21.95 lakh for the 59kWh battery and ₹22.95 lakh for the 70kWh option. The 'THREE+' variant ranges from ₹23.95 lakh (70kWh) to ₹24.95 lakh (79kWh).

At the top of the range, the 'FOUR' and 'Launch Edition' variants, both featuring a 79kWh battery, are available for ₹26.95 lakh each. Additionally, the performance-oriented 'Formula E Freedom Edition' starts at ₹24.45 lakh and goes up to ₹26.95 lakh for its 'FE FOUR' variant. All stated prices exclude wall charger and installation costs.

Advanced Technology and AI Integration

A central highlight of the BE 6 SPORTEQ is its new technology suite. From the 'TWO' variant onwards, the SUV features a striking three-screen, coast-to-coast digital cockpit. The vehicle integrates Mahindra’s six 'TEQ Suites,' powered by the MAIA (Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture) platform.

  • TEQ Talk: Built with Google Gemini, it utilizes 17 specialized AI agents for natural-language interaction across over 100 vehicle functions and 48 applications, including navigation, music, and vehicle controls.
  • TEQ Play: Offers in-car entertainment with karaoke, gaming, private audio, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
  • TEQ Drive: Introduces Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive, and Revive features.
  • TEQ Me: Provides automatic user-profile detection for a personalized experience.
  • TEQ Secure: Includes Secure360 Pro with live view, audio relay, intrusion alerts, and digital key support for various mobile devices and NFC key cards.

The BE 6 SPORTEQ also allows for personalized tailgate messaging.

Special Editions: Launch and Formula E Freedom

Mahindra has positioned the 'BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition' as the pinnacle of luxury within the range, featuring a distinctive Graphite Storm exterior and a full Racing Tan leatherette interior.

For enthusiasts, the 'Formula E Freedom Edition' draws inspiration from Mahindra Racing's Formula E program, emphasizing performance. It sports the original BE 6 headlamp design, tricolor accents, satin color finishes like Rosso Impulso, and a Black and Firestorm Orange interior. This edition retains a two-screen cockpit and signature halo design, boasting an impressive 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.44 seconds.

Future-Proofing with Software Updates

As a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), the BE 6 SPORTEQ is designed for continuous evolution. New software and technology features are planned to be rolled out via Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for existing BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S owners. These phased updates are scheduled to begin in January 2027, with feature availability varying by model and variant.

“Electric mobility is entering a new phase. Customers no longer judge an EV simply by its range or acceleration. They expect it to become more intelligent, more personal and more capable throughout its lifetime. SPORTEQ reflects that shift,” said Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra and Managing Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd. “As the BE 6 is software-defined, it has the ability to keep evolving long after customers take delivery.”
