L&T & FAYAT Partner to Bring Advanced BOMAG Road Equipment to India

· · 3 min read

Larsen & Toubro's Construction & Mining Machinery business has partnered with FAYAT Road Equipment Division to market BOMAG's specialized road construction equipment in India. This move aims to enhance infrastructure development, road quality, and project efficiency across the nation.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a major Indian conglomerate, has announced a significant partnership with France's FAYAT Road Equipment Division (FRED) India. This collaboration, announced on August 26, 2026, will see L&T's Construction & Mining Machinery business marketing and selling specialized road construction equipment from BOMAG, a German brand under FAYAT, across India.

Under the new agreement, L&T will be responsible for the sale of BOMAG's advanced road milling machines, soil stabilisers, and cement spreaders. Crucially, the partnership also encompasses comprehensive after-sales support and the supply of spare parts, leveraging L&T's extensive nationwide service network to provide technical assistance to customers.

Boosting India's Infrastructure Development

This strategic alliance comes at a time when India is heavily investing in its infrastructure, with a strong focus on developing new highways, expressways, and urban road networks. The increased demand for high-quality, efficient machinery is critical for improving construction productivity, ensuring superior road quality, and streamlining maintenance operations.

BOMAG, headquartered in Germany, is renowned for its cutting-edge technologies in road construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation. FAYAT, as France’s largest independent construction group, operates globally in over 170 countries, bringing a wealth of international expertise to the Indian market.

“Our Construction & Mining Machinery business has a long history of introducing advanced equipment technologies in India. The addition of BOMAG’s specialised road construction equipment further strengthens this legacy,” stated Anil V Parab, Senior Executive Vice President and Whole-time Director - Manufacturing, L&T.

The specialized BOMAG range will complement L&T’s existing portfolio of road machinery, which includes hydraulic excavators, dump trucks, and vibratory compactors. This expansion allows L&T to cater to a broader spectrum of applications in road construction and maintenance, offering Indian contractors a wider array of advanced and reliable equipment solutions backed by strong local support.

Enhanced Efficiency and Local Support

The introduction of specialized road construction equipment is expected to significantly improve the precision and consistency of road-building and rehabilitation projects, reducing reliance on manual labor. Machines like road milling equipment can facilitate targeted repairs, while soil stabilisers and cement spreaders are vital for robust road construction and strengthening applications.

Greater mechanisation is projected to enable contractors to execute large-scale infrastructure projects more efficiently, potentially reducing overall construction and maintenance timelines. The combination of global equipment technology from BOMAG with L&T’s local servicing and spare-parts availability is also anticipated to improve equipment uptime for Indian contractors.

Abhijit Som, Managing Director – FRED India, highlighted India's importance: “India is a key strategic growth market for the FAYAT Group. As the country advances towards realising its vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, continued investment in infrastructure will drive demand for advanced, efficient and sustainable road construction solutions.”

The partnership underscores a commitment to enhancing customer productivity and project efficiency, establishing a strong foundation for long-term growth in the dynamic Indian market.
