Fresh reports indicate renewed hostilities between the United States and Iran, particularly near the critical Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media reported explosions close to Qeshm and Sirik, marking the first direct strikes against Iran since late last month. The US military confirmed these actions were in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the strait.
Global Energy Market Concerns
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital chokepoint for global energy shipments, and any disruption there quickly impacts international oil prices. Following the latest developments, oil prices surged sharply.
