KPIT Technologies Shares Jump 10% After Q1 Earnings Exceed Outlook

· · 2 min read

KPIT Technologies saw its shares surge 10% after reporting Q1 earnings that surpassed its own outlook. The automotive software firm recorded a net profit of Rs 116.41 crore, despite a year-on-year decline.

Shares of KPIT Technologies surged 10% in afternoon trading on Wednesday, reaching Rs 662.75, after the company announced first-quarter earnings that surpassed its own financial outlook. The significant jump pushed the firm's market capitalization to Rs 17,509 crore, with a total of 85.18 lakh shares changing hands.

Q1 Performance Ahead of Expectations

For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2027, KPIT Technologies reported a net profit of Rs 116.41 crore. This figure, while lower than the Rs 171.89 crore recorded in the same quarter last year and a sequential decline from Rs 162.97 crore, was still considered "slightly ahead of the outlook" shared by management earlier this month.

The company's management had previously indicated that net profit margins were likely to fall sequentially, with a greater impact on earnings than the expected decline in revenue. Despite these forecasts, the actual performance provided a positive surprise to the market.

CEO Highlights Diversification Strategy

Kishor Patil, Co-founder, CEO, and MD of KPIT Technologies, commented on the results, stating, “The Q1FY27 performance has been slightly ahead of the outlook we shared at the end of the quarter. While a few of our largest clients continue to face pressures, the strategy we have pursued to diversify our growth across clients, geographies, mobility segments and offerings is beginning to demonstrate its resilience.”
