Kia India has launched its second mass-market electric vehicle, the Syros EV, starting at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers two battery options, including a 51.4 kWh variant with an ARAI-certified range of 526 km.

Kia India has officially unveiled its second mass-market electric vehicle (EV) for the Indian market, the Kia Syros EV, with prices commencing at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV is set to become available across all Kia dealerships nationwide starting July 30, 2026. This launch marks a significant step for Kia in expanding EV accessibility in India, complemented by a suite of ownership benefits.

Performance and Range

The Syros EV is offered with two distinct battery configurations. The base variant features a 42-kWh battery pack, providing an ARAI-certified range of 443 km (MIDC Full). For those seeking extended travel, a more powerful 51.4 kWh battery option delivers an impressive 526 km (MIDC Full) on a single charge. Kia highlights that this Extended Range variant is the first in its segment to surpass the 500 km range milestone.

Under the hood, the Syros EV is powered by an electric motor generating 171 PS, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 8.1 seconds. Charging capabilities are robust, with support for 100 kW DC fast charging. This enables the battery to replenish from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes, under optimal charging conditions.

Ownership Benefits and Ecosystem

To address common concerns regarding EV adoption, Kia has introduced several innovative ownership programs. The "Assured Buyback" scheme guarantees up to 80% resale value after three years, which Kia claims is the highest such offer in India. Furthermore, buyers can opt for the "Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)" financing model, reducing the initial vehicle purchase price to ₹7.99 lakh while the battery is financed separately at ₹3.3 per kilometre of usage. The Syros EV also comes with a comprehensive 15-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for its high-voltage battery.

Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, stated, "Beyond an attractive price point, we've built one of the industry's most confident ownership propositions with an Assured Buyback programme offering up to 80% resale value, alongside BaaS and a lifetime battery warranty, addressing the key concerns that continue to influence EV adoption."

Supporting the ownership experience is Kia's extensive K-Charge ecosystem. This network integrates over 20,300 charging points from 23 different charge point operators. Additionally, 129 Kia dealerships are equipped with DC fast chargers, and 275 EV-ready workshops are available across the country to provide service and support.

Advanced Features and Safety

The Syros EV boasts a technologically advanced interior, centered around a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display. This integrated unit seamlessly combines the digital instrument cluster, the infotainment touchscreen, and climate controls. Connectivity features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while audio enthusiasts will appreciate the Harman Kardon premium sound system.

Comfort and convenience are enhanced with ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof. For safety and driver assistance, the Syros EV is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering 16 autonomous driving assistance features. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and a range of other driver assistance technologies, ensuring a secure driving experience.
