Karamtara Engineering's Rs 875 crore initial public offering (IPO) will open for subscription on September 9, 2026, with shares priced at Rs 241-254 each. The Mumbai-based firm, a major solar mounting structure manufacturer, aims to raise Rs 675 crore via fresh issue and Rs 200 crore through an offer-for-sale.

Mumbai-based Karamtara Engineering, a prominent manufacturer of renewable energy and transmission line products, is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on September 9, 2026. The public issue, which has received approval from SEBI in June 2025, will close on September 11, 2026, with the anchor book opening for one day on September 8.

The company has fixed the price band for its shares at Rs 241-254 per equity share. The total IPO size is Rs 875 crore, a reduction from the Rs 1,750 crore initially proposed in its January 2025 draft papers. This comprises a fresh issue of shares worth up to Rs 675 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of Rs 200 crore by promoters Tanveer Singh and Rajiv Singh.

Key Dates and Investor Details

Investors can bid for a minimum of 59 equity shares and in multiples thereafter. For retail investors, the minimum investment at the upper end of the price band is Rs 14,986, while the maximum investment allowed is Rs 1,94,818. Share allotment is expected to be finalized by September 15, with the company likely to list on September 17, 2026.

Prior to the IPO, Karamtara Engineering successfully completed a private placement, raising Rs 75 crore from Amara Partners, founded by Parag Shah. This placement involved 24.19 lakh compulsorily convertible preference shares at Rs 310 each, reducing the size of the fresh issue.

Company Profile and Expansion Plans

Karamtara Engineering identifies itself as the largest integrated manufacturer of solar mounting structures and tracker components. Beyond solar, the company supplies structures and fasteners for the transmission sector, including overhead transmission line hardware and accessories. It has also diversified into the wind energy sector by producing angular and tubular towers for wind turbines.

Looking ahead, Karamtara Engineering plans further expansion into the battery energy storage systems (BESS) business through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Karamtara Green Energy, incorporated in May 2025. Additionally, the company intends to establish manufacturing facilities for prefabricated engineered building structures.

Financial Performance and Fund Utilization

For the fiscal year 2026, Karamtara Engineering reported robust financial growth. The company's profit surged by 64.2 percent to Rs 228.8 crore, while revenue increased by 36.5 percent to Rs 4,312 crore compared to the previous year.

From the net proceeds of the fresh issue, Rs 600 crore will be allocated towards the repayment of certain outstanding debt. As of July 2026, the company's total standalone outstanding borrowings stood at Rs 1,344.4 crore, with outstanding acceptances under letters of credit amounting to Rs 735.1 crore. The remaining funds will be utilized for general corporate purposes.

Public shareholders will include Amara Partners with a 0.92 percent stake, and Singularity AMC, backed by Utpal Sheth and Madhusudan Kela, each holding 0.25 percent. JM Financial, ICICI Securities, and IIFL Capital Services are acting as the merchant bankers for the issue.
