Jewar Airport Region to Transform with Major New Projects Approved by YEIDA

· · 2 min read

The Yamuna Expressway Authority (YEIDA) has approved several ambitious projects near Jewar-Noida Airport, including a medical hub, university township, international stadium, and dedicated industrial clusters. These developments aim to boost healthcare, education, sports, and economic growth, creating new jobs and facilities in the region.

The landscape surrounding the upcoming Jewar-Noida International Airport is set for a significant overhaul, as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has given the green light to a series of major development projects. These initiatives are designed to establish the area as a modern economic and institutional hub, attracting investment and generating employment opportunities.

Comprehensive Development Plans Unveiled

YEIDA's ambitious plan encompasses a wide range of infrastructure and sectoral developments. Key approvals include the establishment of a substantial medical hub, a dedicated university township, an international-standard stadium, and an inter-state bus terminal to enhance connectivity. Furthermore, specialized industrial zones like 'Taiwan City' for electronics manufacturing and a pharmaceutical formulation cluster have been sanctioned, alongside a modern agricultural mandi.

Healthcare and Higher Education Boost

A significant focus of the development is on strengthening social infrastructure. A sprawling medical hub, spanning 500 acres, is slated for development across Sectors 13 and 14. Complementing this, a university township will be built over 480 acres in Sector 14, aimed at expanding higher education facilities and treatment options within the Jewar airport vicinity.

Sports, Commerce, and Connectivity Enhancements

To promote sports and recreation, an international stadium will be constructed on 50 acres in Sector 23D. For the agricultural community, a high-tech mandi covering 36 acres in Sector 34 will facilitate efficient crop sales, purchases, and storage, helping farmers secure fair prices for their produce. Recognizing the growing transport demands around Noida International Airport, an inter-state bus terminal in Sector 23C has been approved to improve regional connectivity and passenger convenience.

Industrial and Economic Growth Drivers

Attracting foreign investment is a core objective, with 'Taiwan City' approved on 300 acres in Sector 6. This dedicated zone aims to draw electronics and technology manufacturing firms to Uttar Pradesh. In the same sector, a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster, covering 100 to 125 acres, will further stimulate business activity and create specialized jobs within the pharma sector.

Support for Local Farmers

In a move to support the local farming community, the YEIDA board has also increased land purchase rates for farmers in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Bulandshahr. Under Phase 1 of mutual agreement acquisitions, the rate has risen by 6 percent, from ₹4,300 to ₹4,558 per square metre. An alternative rate of ₹4,037 per square metre has also been fixed, alongside a 7 percent abadi plot rate. These combined projects are expected to accelerate development, solidifying the Jewar airport area's position as a major industrial and institutional hub.
