India's IPO Market Soars: $9 Billion Raised in Q3, 200+ Companies Await Listing

· · 2 min read

India's Initial Public Offering market saw a record $9 billion raised in Q3 2026, pushing year-to-date fundraising past $13 billion. Over 200 companies, including major players like Jio Platforms, are in the pipeline, signaling sustained momentum.

India's Initial Public Offering (IPO) market is on track for a third consecutive strong year, with fundraising accelerating significantly in the July-September quarter of 2026. Despite broader equity market volatility and weaker investor sentiment, the pace of new listings has remained robust.

Record Q3 Fundraising Propels Market

According to Bloomberg data, listing proceeds for Q3 2026 surpassed $9 billion (approximately Rs 86,500 crore), marking the highest ever for this period. This surge has brought total fundraising for 2026 to more than $13 billion (Rs 1.24 lakh crore) so far.

Major offerings from prominent entities such as National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE), SBI Funds Management Ltd, and Manipal Health Enterprises Ltd were key drivers of this rebound, collectively raising over $4.3 billion (Rs 41,275 crore).

Strong Pipeline and Market Dynamics

The robust performance comes even as the benchmark NSE Nifty50 has seen a decline of about 13 percent this year. Analysts attribute the market's resilience to strong domestic liquidity and consistent demand from institutional investors, enabling companies to tap the market despite investors becoming more selective on valuations.

Looking ahead, the year-end period is traditionally the busiest for India's IPO market. With another strong quarter, total fundraising for 2026 could approach the record hauls of the previous two years, which both exceeded $20 billion.

Major Listings Expected Soon

The pipeline for upcoming offerings is substantial, with over 200 companies preparing for their market debuts. High-profile entities anticipated to launch larger IPOs include Jio Platforms, Avaada Electro, and Advanta Enterprises. This strong backlog provides bankers with clear visibility for issuance through the final quarter of 2026 and potentially into early 2027, although exact timings will depend on prevailing market conditions and investor appetite.

Regulatory bodies have already approved 144 companies for IPOs, including notable names like Oravel Stays, Torrent Gas, and Sify Infinit Spaces. Additionally, 73 companies, such as Carlsberg India and MakeMyTrip India, have filed their draft prospectuses and are awaiting regulatory clearance. Bankers expect some of these approvals to come through in time for issuers to enter the market before the year concludes.
