Several Indian companies, including Bharti Airtel, DLF, and Zydus Lifesciences, are in the spotlight ahead of May 14 trading. Quarterly results, dividend announcements, and a sugar export ban are driving market attention.

Indian equity benchmark indices posted mild gains on Wednesday, breaking a four-day losing streak amidst mixed global cues and geopolitical tensions. The BSE Sensex closed up 49.74 points (0.07%) at 74,608.98, while the Nifty50 gained 33.05 points (0.14%) to finish at 23,412.60.

Key Market Movers and Corporate Actions

A range of companies are set to announce their March 2026 quarter results today, including JSW Steel, Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL), Muthoot Finance, IRFC, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Siemens Energy India, United Spirits, and Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco).

In other corporate actions, Brookfield India Real Estate Trust REIT, Kewal Kiran Clothing, and Oberoi Realty will trade ex-dividend on Thursday.

Sugar Companies Under Scrutiny

Sugar stocks, including Balrampur Chini Mills, Dalmia Bharat & Sugar, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries, Dhampur Sugar, and EID Parry, are in focus after the Indian government banned the export of raw, white, and refined sugar with immediate effect until September 2026.

Bharti Airtel Reports Mixed Q4

Telecom major Bharti Airtel saw its net profit drop 33.5% year-over-year (YoY) to Rs 7,325 crore for the March 2026 quarter, despite revenue climbing to Rs 55,383 crore. Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) increased to 257, and margins expanded by 60 basis points to 57.8%. The company declared a final dividend of Rs 24 per share.

Tata Motors CV Posts Profit Jump

Tata Motors' Commercial Vehicles (CV) segment reported a 33.8% YoY surge in net profit to Rs 33.8 crore, with revenue up 19.4% YoY to Rs 26,098 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. EBITDA grew 8.6% YoY to Rs 2,640 crore, though margins fell to 10.12%. A final dividend of Rs 4 per share was announced.

Zydus Lifesciences Considers Buyback

The board of pharmaceutical firm Zydus Lifesciences will meet next week, on May 19, to evaluate a potential equity share buyback. This would mark the company's third buyback in four years, following similar actions in 2022 and 2024.

DLF's Q4 Profit Dips

Real estate giant DLF reported a 1.1% YoY decline in net profit to Rs 1,268.6 crore, with revenue down 42% YoY to Rs 1,814 crore. EBITDA cracked 58% YoY to Rs 411 crore, and margins stood at 22.6%. The company proposed a dividend of Rs 8 per share.

LIC Housing Finance Sees Profit Growth

LIC Housing Finance recorded a 9% YoY increase in net profit, reaching Rs 1,497.41 crore, while revenue from operations remained flat at Rs 7,194.34 crore for the March 2026 quarter. Its individual home loan portfolio grew 4% YoY to Rs 2,70,893 crore, with the total outstanding portfolio expanding to Rs 3,20,707 crore.

Anant Raj Explores Demerger

Real estate firm Anant Raj has formed a committee to assess a potential demerger of its data center business. The company also appointed Anish Sarin as Director and reported significant profitability growth and a strengthened balance sheet, supported by improved cash flows and a successful Rs 1,100 crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP).

NBCC (India) Secures New Orders

State-run construction company NBCC (India) secured two new orders totaling Rs 131.02 crore from the Central Bank of India and the government of Andhra Pradesh.

Bharti Hexacom Q4 Results

Internet and telecom solutions provider Bharti Hexacom reported a 4.6% YoY fall in net profit to Rs 446.7 crore, even as revenue increased 5.4% YoY to Rs 2,414 crore for the March 2026 quarter. EBITDA was up 8.5% YoY, and margins improved to 53%. A final dividend of Rs 18 per share was announced.

SignatureGlobal India's Profit Soars

Real estate player SignatureGlobal India reported a manifold jump in net profit to Rs 1,150 crore, with revenue from operations surging 113% YoY to Rs 1,110 crore. EBITDA margins, however, dropped nearly 900 bps to 16%, and net debt fell 77% YoY to Rs 200 crore as of March 31, 2026.
